ABOUT KNIGHTS IN RESIDENCE

The name 'Knights' refers to the Poor Knights Island group, visible on the horizon.

'In residence' refers to you, our knightly guests, staying at either the Retreat or the Studio.

Thanks to your support, artists are invited to apply for a residency at our Art Studio and become our ‘Artists in Residence.’ Select pieces created by these artists are available for purchase on our website.

Knights in Residence consists of two architecturally designed buildings: the Retreat and the Studio. Both are tastefully decorated, fully self-contained, and can accommodate 2 to 4 people.

Guests can enjoy various private and sheltered seating areas, as well as an outdoor bath available for all to use. Knights in Residence also has its own bush track leading to Dolphin Bay, a fantastic spot for snorkeling, diving, and where dolphins and whales are regular visitors!

A stay at Knights in Residence brings you close to the stunning views, soothing sounds, and refreshing scents of the ocean. This alone offers a blissful experience, but guests can also take advantage of the many year-round tourist activities along the beautiful Tutukaka Coast. The nearby community of Tutukaka features a marina, boutique shops, and charming restaurants.

Additionally, by request, Knights in Residence offers unique opportunities for guests to explore their creativity in the Art Studio or engage in therapeutic sessions facilitated by founder and owner Anneke Muijlwijk, a qualified therapist, counselor, and mediator.
